Introduction

Elmsted can be found nestling in the Kent North Downs. It is situated to the west of Stone Street which is an old roman road that runs from Lymne and Canterbury. Elmsted is bounded by the parishes of Hastingleigh, Waltham, Stelling Minnis, Stowting and Lyminge and the hamlets of Bodsham, Northleigh and Evington Leas can be found within its boundary.

There is a wealth of listed buildings, an impressive church, beautiful countryside and one public house in the hamlet of Bodsham. There is a primary school at Bodsham but there are no shopping facilities or doctors surgeries. The communities of Elmsted and neighbouring Hastingleigh use the facilities at Evington Hall as the village hall.

Elmsted has many interesting walks with wonderful scenery, wild flowers and wildlife.
